You are so talented. You have an amazing sense of shading, texture, color, and overall composition. I would have to say this is one of the best digital drawings I have ever seen. http://ksonger.blogspot.com

Really, really nice. I love the expression of Puss. He's just so knowing and rogue-ish.

Your work here reminds me alot of the illustrations by Scott Gustafson, and that's not a bad thing. :) My only critique is that this image (at least on my moniter) appears rather muted and there could be a bit more contrast applied with how you've added highlights and shadows to help pop the characters (or at least Puss) more.

You have some very nice work posted on your blog. :) Are these all for particular work projects or school or just for fun?

Thanks for your critique Tanja,
I'm actually trying to build a portfolio before I go to New York with some other students. I like it when I can get critiqued so I know what I can change or make better on my pieces before I leave.

Wow! I haven't been here since your "Sleepy Hallow" piece... Wonderful stuff! I love your glowing skin tones and back-lighting. The boy's expression is perfect - the cat's is purrrfect. So, are you putting together a book of illustrated fables with these (I hope)?

Thanks everyone for your comments,
to answer your comment Mike, I'm actually just trying to build my portfolio right now and fables are just the fastest way for me to do that since they're short and don't take a long time to read. :)

Jen this looks great! I really love the style you are creating. For critique I would say the only thing that seems a little out of place is the king's face. For some reason it seems a little flat to me. I know you are trying to say "hey I'm in the background" but maybe you could punch up the contrast a bit. Other than that I really like the textures you have created and the characters are fun....great work

Hey Jenny this is becca your painting looks really good but I think the king guy is too faded out. you cant really see the details on his face. Just wanted to let you know!

You're not going to have any trouble getting work as an illustrator when you start submitting your work. Gorgeous.

Your work is insanely amazing..reminds me of some of the great masters of the 30's, 40's and 50's.

Hey Jenny! This is Rachie! Hey, great job on this one! I also loved seeing your newer ones (Jack and the Beanstalk, Thumbelina,...) that I havent seen until now! I think on this one, the purple-ey in the cat's fur (especially the top of his head) makes him so much more interesting than just a gray cat. Also, I might agree with some other blogs- on the King's face looking a little dull, but I think thats only in contrast to his crown. Because his eyes are so light this adds to that looking a little bit out of place. This is still incredible anyways. Amazing amazing amazing!!! I am so proud to call you my cousin and we really need to catch up sometime soon! Love- Rach
