Fresh Sketches off the Press...

I was drawing with a pen, so I have a bunch of "randoms" behind the main images.

Plus, have you ever opened your blinds only to see a creepy little snow man sitting next to your window. Yea, that was my experience this afternoon.

I also have some Artist Resolutions to make this year. *Because I NEED to.
  • Send postcards to publishers. Um, can you believe I haven't done that yet and it's been like a billion years since I've been out of school? Ok more like 2.5-3. But whatever.
  • Enter my artwork into... uh... places? I don't know where yet. The point I'm getting at is I'm going to be less "chicken-ish" this year. (And I pray the years to come :) )

I don't understand my deep rooted connection to my artwork, that makes me so nervous to show anyone "professional" for fear of being rejected. How is it that it's like oneself being rejected? Clueless. There you go, I've laid it all down and made myself vulnerable. The End.

Can I just say, I totally understand the burden of guilt in connection with everything I haven't been doing with art? Guilt can even turn into panic, which tends to incapacitate rather than motivate! What's been helping me lately is setting goals, as you have, and then moving forward, being sure to give myself room to move at my own pace and enjoy the process.

Let me also say I admire your talent tremendously and am sure good things are bound to happen when you get your work out there : )

Well thanks Becca! I appreciate that coming from an amazing artist such as yourself. Good luck with your goals as well!

Hey Jennifer, I saw your illustration in the Illustrators Utah show. I just emailed the lady at the bountiful davis art center and she let me know that I was in the show. I think they might of let just about everyone who entered into the show and then gave out prizes for the winners.
